Corbin Bleu's new role involves him stripping naked - and shocking his family in the process. The High School Musical star plays a model in new US show The Beautiful Life: TBL and features in some steamy naked posters publicising the show's launch. Talking about breaking the news to his family, the Disney star said: "Trust me, there were talks - there were talks, it was a discussion." Asked who in his family was the most shocked, Corbin said: "Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandmother, pretty much everybody."
But the 20-year-old was confident about his choice, saying: "When it comes down to it, it wasn't a personal photo, it was something that was done for a project, and the project is about models, and models are naked half the time when they're backstage anyway."
And the nudity required for his role has meant a healthy new regime for the actor and singer.
"As soon as I found out I was doing this project, I was like, 'my b**t's getting down to the gym right now' and my diet has completely changed, I don't eat any carbs, dairy or sugar, and I eat very low sodium, I pretty much eat protein and vegetables," he said. - The Press Assoc.

THE CW MAY BE THE REASON BEHIND 'TBL' FAILURE!

The CW has actually done little to promote "The Beautiful Life." Despite the show's premiere next Wednesday (9/16), critics have yet to receive a full episode to review. This is pretty rare; networks will at least send out screeners with temporary music, titles, sound and other unfinished bits in order to get shows in the hands of critics. Prior to summer press tour in July, media was provided only with twenty-five minutes of scenes. This often indicates the show's being recast or the pilot being re-shot, but in the case of "TBL," there was no recasting and no pilot to re-shoot. Just the scenes. Full story @ Zap2it

Mischa Barton’s co-star in her new TV show, The Beautiful Life, tells OK! that she was back to work yesterday after her recent breakdown.
Nico Tortorella, who plays a model named Kai on the new CW show, revealed at the launch party for the Blackberry Tour for Sprint that the Homecoming actress was at Wednesday’s table-read for the first episode and was “doing great” and “ready to work.”
He added that he and the cast were ready to help Mischa get back into normal life after the meltdown which saw her hospitalized and held by the authorities for her own safety.
“A bunch of [stuff] has gone down — you can’t really help it,” he told OK! at the party at NYC’s Thompson hotel on the Lower East Side.
“Everybody wants to see her get better and I think she will.”
The actor, who first met Mischa three month ago when they shot the pilot, said that he and the rest of the cast were ready to support her though this tough time.
“I’m here for her; I think we all are,” he said. “She has good people fostering good situations.”

And according to the executive producers of the highly anticipated CW series, “The Beautiful Life,” it will, despite star Mischa Barton’s recent well-publicized hospitalization. “We are happy to report that Mischa Barton is doing well and excited to start work, as we all are,” Mike Kelley and Karey Burke wrote in an e-mail to WWD on Monday. “Production for ‘The Beautiful Life’ will begin on Friday, July 31.” The e-mail also noted Barton is expected on set on Aug. 3.

Real-life intrigue aside, the show’s other stars were plenty enthusiastic at a shoot for WWD that took place the day after the Barton news broke. “I don’t know what’s going on. I hope she’s OK,” Sara Paxton offered before turning to the topic at hand, her own role in the show, and the day’s shoot, which included a sequin, animal-print Elise Overland cocktail dress and studded Cesare Paciotti booties. “I love myself in this!” she squealed while looking in the mirror. “I’m so cool! I love myself!” The edgy look was a departure for the pretty blonde, 21, who describes her everyday uniform as “grunge-meets-grandma equestrian,” but then again, she was expecting to undergo a major fashion transformation for “The Beautiful Life.”The show chronicles a group of models as they rise and fall in the international fashion arena and, much like in the real world, outrageous drama will be as much a part of the story lines as fabulous duds.

It’s the creation of Ashton Kutcher and Kelley of “Swingtown” and “The O.C.” fame, and inspired by the real-life modeling experiences of Kutcher and model-turned-writer Adam Giaudrone. “It’s about the struggle,” said Kelley. “These aren’t privileged people who have money or are trying to win a contest on a reality show. These [characters] are kids who don’t have a lot of opportunities outside of their looks, and they are trying to parlay whatever success they have into an actual future.” - Source.

Filming for The Beautiful Life: TBL will begin on Friday, 31 July 2009 in New York City. The previous set date for filming was 22 July, but according to a CW spokesperson, some sets were not ready for filming to take place.

A week after calling police with a health problem and being placed under a psychiatric hold, Mischa Barton is "making improvements" and will get back to work, her rep tells PEOPLE. Specific details about the 23-year-old actress's condition were not available but Barton's rep says she is "still seeking treatment" and plans to return to work on the CW show The Beautiful Life, which is scheduled to begin production July 31. Friends have said the former O.C. star is "dealing with personal issues" and has been on "a destructive path" for a while. According to a source, Barton has now left Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where last week she was placed under a psychiatric evaluation, known as a 5150 hold.

The production start on CW's new drama "The Beautiful Life" has been pushed back by a week, from July 22 to July 31.And despite the widely publicized recent meltdown and hospitalization of co-star Mischa Barton, sources close to the show say the reason for the delay is far more mundane: Some of the sets for the show were not completed on time. "Beautiful Life," executive produced by Ashton Kutcher, revolves around a group of models living together in a coed residence in New York. On the series, which is scheduled to premiere Sept. 16 behind "America's Next Top Model," the "O.C." alumna plays a supermodel and veteran of the high-fashion circuit who is struggling to keep on top and is in danger of slipping."Beautiful Life" has been getting an extra dose of prelaunch publicity from the tabloid exploits of Barton, who, following a call to the police on Wednesday night, was put under an involuntary psychiatric hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Actress Mischa Barton, 23, canceled a scheduled appearance at the New York premiere of her new film Homecoming tonight, one day after reportedly calling the Los Angeles Police Department with a health problem.
People magazine reports that police were called to Barton's home at 3 p.m. Wednesday for a "medical issue." The star's rep, Craig Schneider, told People that the LAPD officers were there simply to protect the star:
"Police were involved due to Ms. Barton's celebrity status, to safely transfer her to medical treatment as per doctor's orders," he said, adding that the actress is now "okay and resting." (Police would not confirm Access Hollywood's claim that the actress has been placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at an L.A. hospital.)
According to the CW's Paul McGuire, Barton's upcoming drama The Beautiful Life, which begins production July 22 and premieres Sept. 16, will not be affected by the incident.

Several reports have confirmed that Corbin Bleu will be playing the character Isaac on the upcoming series The Beautiful Life. He's been signed as a series regular on the show, joining stars like Mischa Barton and Elle Macpherson. Produced by Ashton Kutcher, the program is all set to premiere this September on the network.

The life of a high-fashion model appears glamorous and sexy, but as every new model quickly learns, behind the beautiful façade is a world of insecurity and cutthroat competition. Two teenage models who are about to discover this world for themselves are Raina Collins (Sara Paxton, Last House on the Left), a stunning beauty with a secret past, and Chris Andrews (Benjamin Hollingsworth, The Line), a strikingly handsome Iowa farm boy. When Raina makes an unforgettable impression at a show introducing the new line from designer Zac Posen (appearing in a cameo role), she steals the spotlight from her friend Sonja (Mischa Barton, The O.C.). Sonja has been out of the country for mysterious reasons and is now desperate to reclaim her standing as the reigning supermodel. While Raina and Sonja live at the top of the fashion food chain, Chris is starting at the bottom, having just been discovered by agent Simon Lockridge (newcomer Dusan Dukic) of the Covet Modeling Agency, which is owned by former supermodel Claudia Foster (Elle Macpherson, Friends). At his first photo shoot, Chris’ inexperience almost derails his career until Raina comes to his rescue, showing him how to relax and work the camera. That afternoon, Raina brings Chris to the “models’ residence” where she lives along with other young hopefuls, including Marissa Delfina (Ashley Madekwe, Secret Diary of a Call Girl), Egan (Jordan Woolley, As The World Turns), Issac (Corbin Bleu, High School Musical 2) and the current alpha-male-model known as Kai (Nico Tortorella, Twelve). At an exclusive industry party that night, Chris is again impressed by Raina’s generosity when she steps aside to make sure Sonja lands a job that will resurrect her career. However, after an ugly scene with Simon, Chris is left to question whether he can survive in this world of dangerous excess and fleeting fame.
