The CW has actually done little to promote "The Beautiful Life." Despite the show's premiere next Wednesday (9/16), critics have yet to receive a full episode to review. This is pretty rare; networks will at least send out screeners with temporary music, titles, sound and other unfinished bits in order to get shows in the hands of critics. Prior to summer press tour in July, media was provided only with twenty-five minutes of scenes. This often indicates the show's being recast or the pilot being re-shot, but in the case of "TBL," there was no recasting and no pilot to re-shoot. Just the scenes. Full story @ Zap2it

Season 1 Episode 2: "The Beautiful Aftermath."
Chris (Ben Hollingsworth) believes his chances at a modeling career are over and prepares to leave New York City until he receives a surprise phone call from Claudia (Elle Macpherson). Claudia informs Raina (Sara Paxton) that she needs to focus more on her career and less on her new relationship with Chris. Isaac (Corbin Bleu) confronts Vivienne (guest star Jamie Murray, "Dexter") about her behavior towards him at a go-see, and the two end up working out an arrangement that serves both their needs. Marissa (Ashley Madekwe) accuses Sonja (Mischa Barton) of stealing the Versace campaign from her and decides to seek revenge in a very public way, which leads Sonja to Cole (Nico Tortorella) for assistance. Marissa invites Raina's brother, Alex (guest star Billy Magnussen, "As the World Turns"), to a party hosted by Nina Garcia ("Project Runway"), where more secrets about Raina's past are revealed. Michael Lehmann directed the episode written by Anna Fricke and Mike Kelley (#101).

The CW's "The Beautiful Life: TBL" will be all over New York's Fashion Week-- and New York magazine. In a very targeted mailing, the CW this week is sending 4,000 high profile contacts in the fashion and media worlds a polybagged edition of New York magazine featuring those racy shots of the cast that caused a bit of media buzz earlier this month.
Next week, all New York readers and subscribers will see a six-page ad spread featuring tamer, but still risque, art of the cast (see below). And then, during Fashion Week, copies of New York featuring the ad spread and the naughty nudes will be handed out in the show tents. - TheWrap.com

A: Adam: As the World Turns' Billy Magnussen will guest-star in multiple episodes as the brother of Raina (Sara Paxton). His arc will offer clues to the checkered past of Raina's family, which might explain why she decided to leave home to become a model at the tender age of 15. But older bro will also affect Raina's present when he gets close to one of her housemates.
